TASAI 2022 Country Studies Underway
April 5, 2022
In 2022, TASAI intends to conduct country studies in Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Each country has successfully kicked off an inception meeting to launch their respective study. Inception meetings involved discussions with the government, key local seed industry actors, and international development agencies. The country researchers were trained in TASAI’s methodology and KoBoToolbox for online data collection. The 2022 studies will be the third set of country studies for Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, and Nigeria, the second for Zimbabwe, and the first for Cote d’Ivoire, Niger, and South Sudan. The aim of TASAI’s study is to identify the status of the formal seed sector in each country and propose policy recommendations for vibrant seed sectors.
